Iron Age Pork

By the Iron Age pigs had been domesticated and the origins of todays rare breeds were established.  The flavour and texture of the pork was a far cry form the average modern supermarket offering, from often fast-growing modern breeds kept in forcing conditions.

We buy our pigs from a like-minded local farmer who has a small farm with rare breed pigs, which they cross to produce our Iron Age Pork. When they are ready for the table they are taken to the same local abbatoir/ butcher who prepare our lambs. Truly free-range and all born and raised on the farm.

The pork has a natural layer of fat on it, giving it great flavour and wonderful crackling.

We send the pork out butchered into vacuum packed joints of chops, loin and shoulder, with the bellies and cheek made into delicious sausages.
